Our 2010 series illustrates the creative fusion of gardening with the culinary arts. Seven outstanding writers, garden designers and chefs will share their vision of local food and agriculture, growing edibles in the home garden and celebrating regional food traditions. Denver Botanic Gardens has partnered with Slow Food Denver to present a special tasting at each program this year, highlighting the speakers’ themes and recipes. Please come early to enjoy some of Colorado’s local flavors! A portion of this year’s ticket price will be donated to Slow Food Denver to support their education and advocacy programs.

Denver Botanic Gardens presents a landmark exhibition of monumental works by the internationally acclaimed British sculptor, Henry Moore (1898-1986). This powerful exhibit highlights the inspiration Moore found in natural environments, emphasizing the relationship of humanity to the natural world.

Twenty of Moore’s massive sculptures are displayed within the landscape settings of the Gardens’ York Street and Chatfield locations, providing the perfect backdrop for work which demands to be seen in the open.

Experience Moore’s work in all seasons, from the vibrant colors of spring to the cool light of winter. Discover sculptures in the Gardens’ diverse landscapes – in prairie wildflowers, serene reflecting pools, and the rugged rock alpine garden.

Regina Benson creates wall hangings and dimensional textile sculptures using her own surface-designed fabrics. Golden-based Benson uses natural dyes in her process, but more often her technique is subtractive – taking away color that leads to an overall design. Using materials such as snow, vinegar, soy wax and rusted objects, both her palette and her inspiration come from nature.
